Pelican Bomb has a review of “Solidary & Solitary: The Joyner/Giuffrida Collection” currently on view at the Ogden. A stirring show, with breathtaking works in every room, and a must-see for any art lover in the greater New Orleans area.
The Tulane News Service has a lovely article on FORESTival this coming weekend, with a gracious mention of Ecotone. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
After six long years away, I’m thrilled to say that Ecotone is finally coming home. Next Saturday, I’ll be giving a reading and a poetry walk at FORESTival, the annual festival of the arts and environment at A Studio in the Woods. The reading will also feature a tour of some of the places that inspired the book and stories from its creation; the festival will also feature musicians, artists, and chefs from across southern Louisiana. More information, and tickets, are available here.
Next Thursday night, I’m thrilled to moderate a conversation between Joel Dinerstein, author of American Cool, and Maurice Carlos Ruffin, novelist and author of the forthcoming We Cast a Shadow, at Garden District Book Shop, to celebrate the New Orleans launch of Dinerstein’s new book (which has been lavishly praised by just about every publication that’s encountered it). More details here; the talk starts at 6pm.
