Sonnets are still back! I’ll be leading another sonnet workshop at East Baton Rouge Parish Library next week, on Wednesday, February 25, from 12-1pm. Free and open to the public.

I couldn’t be more grateful that my article on the prison minstry at Bibb County Correctional Facility was named one of the editors’ ten favorite articles of 2025 in byFaith magazine. It was a privilege to research and write, and I remain in debt to those men on the inside who shared their lives and stories with me — I only wish their names appeared on the byline too.

Sonnets are back! (As if they ever left.) I’ll be leading a workshop at the Willow School this week for their creative writing students, based out of the Mid/South Sonnets anthology published by Belle Point Press. Future public workshops are in the works; more information to come.

Following the launch last night at the Words and Music Festival, I’m honored that a chapter from my forthcoming memoir is included in the 2024 lmnl arts anthology, available here. The book will be published in early 2027 by University Press of Mississippi; until then, it’s an honor to rub shoulders with so many writers whom I admire in these pages.

I’m delighted to be appearing at two events at this year’s Words and Music Festival next weekend: at a reading celebrating the launch of the lmnl anthology on Thursday night, and at the reading celebrating the Katrina and Rita anthology on Saturday night.
