International Poetry Reading at Tulane

Next Wednesday, November 13th, I’m honored to take part in an international reading with seven exceptional poets, co-sponsored by Poets and Writers magazine and Tulane University. From the P&W website:

Join us Wednesday, November 13th at 6 PM at the Newcomb Hall 403, School of Liberal Arts at Tulane University for an international poetry reading from emerging and established poets: Louisiana Poet Laureate and Professor Emeritus Peter Cooley, Tulane University, Kelly Harris the Literary Outreach Coordinator for “Poets and Writers” in New Orleans, LA, Bouchaib Gadir, Tulane University,  Mbarek Sryfi, University of Pennsylvania,  Karisma Price, Tulane University, Andy Young, Jerika Marchan and Benjamin Morris.

2019 Faulkner-Wisdom Competition

I’m thrilled to thank the Faulkner Society for all their efforts on behalf of writers everywhere. Every year they labor to read, review, and celebrate hundreds (if not thousands) of new works, tirelessly championing writers both established and emerging. How humbling it is, then, to receive their encouragement as a finalist in the Faulkner-Wisdom competition in not one but two categories, novel-in-progress and collection of poetry, especially alongside so many others whose talents leave me in awe. It’s moments like this that send us straight back to the desk to finish what we’ve started. So thank you, Rosemary James & Joe DeSalvo, and congratulations to all the winners!
