I’m honored to be joining Dennis Formento, Olivia Clare Friedman, Skye Jackson, Chuck Perkins, and Gina Ferrara at this year’s Louisiana Book Festival in Baton Rouge next weekend, on November 1. One of the best literary festivals in the South, the LBF only increases its poetry offerings year on end, and this year is an absolute feast. Free!

I’m delighted to be reading with Madeleine Trosclair-Rotolo, author of the excellent collection Bottomlands, at Cavalier House Books (formerly Beausoleil Books) in Lafayette next Thursday, on October 23. We’ll be starting around 6 — free and open to all.

I’m very grateful to have poems in this beautiful anthology of poetry and art inspired by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, edited by Mona Lisa Saloy and John Warner Smith. Events will be taking place throughout the fall, in New Orleans and beyond.

Later this month on September 18 I’m delighted to join Lauren Rhoades for the New Orleans launch of her new memoir, Split the Baby. We’ll be in conversation at the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, with a public conversation, Q&A, and book signing to follow. All welcome; the event starts at 6pm at the MSJE. Attendance is free but registration is requested.

Could not be happier to read this weekend in support of the Toups Family Meal Program, which feeds children in need during the summer months when they’re out of school. The reading starts around 8 at Bar Redux; the lineup is nothing short of stellar, and all proceeds will go to the Foundation.
