Could not be happier to read this weekend in support of the Toups Family Meal Program, which feeds children in need during the summer months when they’re out of school. The reading starts around 8 at Bar Redux; the lineup is nothing short of stellar, and all proceeds will go to the Foundation.

Possumtown Book Festival
Next weekend on Saturday the 16th, I’m thrilled to join the Possumtown Book Festival sponsored by Friendly City Books in Columbus, MS, for a panel by Rooted Magazine — I’ll be speaking partly from the recent interview and partly on other topics. Rumor has it a secret map will be displayed! Fellow panelists will be poet Nadia Alexis and novelist Julie Whitehead, moderated by Lauren Rhoades. If you’re in the area, come and hang!

In what may be the first review of TSR, Matt Hanson has an overview of a handful of new collections from New Orleans-area poets. Very grateful to Matt and to the Fuse for the kind coverage.
