After some transition time from a static document to a live web page, I’m grateful to say that the New Orleans Literary Events page is now live. It’s a continuously-updated resource for anyone interested in book-related events in the New Orleans area, including regular reading series, festivals, writing groups, educational programs, bookshops, publications, and more. Feel free to share widely; this is for everyone.

This past weekend I was a guest on the Mississippi Arts Hour on MPB, for the longest conversation yet about The Singing River. Could not be more grateful to Kristen Brandt and to MPB for such thoughtful questions and the chance to think and discuss at length.

I’m delighted to say that details for the book launch of The Singing River are now confirmed: the event will take place at Blue Cypress Books at 8123 Oak Street on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 7pm. Nikki Ummel, Skye Jackson, and Rodrigo Toscano will read from their work as well.

Last month I had the privilege of visiting a prison ministry outside of Birmingham, Alabama, and reporting on the experience for byFaith magazine. That series of articles, called ‘Grace Like a Fetter,’ has now been published in its entirety. Articles one, two, and three are now online.
